Wadih el-Hage

Another in the rogue’s gallery of Al Fuqra connections. It is believed he may have been involved or at least had knowledge of the murder of Dr. Rashid Khalifa, an imam at a mosque in Tucson. This mission had been planned in detail by a Fuqra cell in Colorado, known as the “Muhammad Commandos Sector 5.”

Among the notable items on el-Hage’s terrorist resume, from 1992-1994 he lived in Sudan and worked as a secretary to Osama bin Laden. El-Hage also had several friends convicted in the 1993 WTC bombing and landmark plot. After Sudan, he moved to Nairobi, Kenya where he continued to work for al-Qaida. A letter found by investigators suggested that El-Hage was the “engineer” of the terrorist cell that bombed the U.S. embassy in 1998.

El-Hage was sentenced to life in prison without parole in 2001.
